LATE MR D BRENNAN.

    Probate has been granted of the will of the late Mr Daniel Brennan, draper, of Mount-street, Coogee, who died on March 17 last, aged 61 years, leaving an estate of the net value of £72,783. Testator appointed his wife, Margaret Brennan, his son, James, his daughter, Mary, and the manager of his business, John Morrissey, his executors and trustees. He bequeathed £1,000 a year and the use of his residence to his widow during her life, £200 to his manager, £300 to his brother, the Rev James Brennan, of Kilkenny, Ireland, £200 to his nephew, Rev John Brennan, of Uganda, Africa, £200 each to St Martha’s Home, Leichhardt, Narellan Orphanage, Little Sisters of the Poor, Randwick, Westmead Boys’ Home, St Magdalene’s Refuge, Tempe, Nursing Sisters, Coogee, £300 each to Baulkham Hills Orphanage and Lewisham Hospital, and £100 each to the Gore Hill Orphanage, Kincumber Orphanage, Liverpool Orphanage, Ryde Orphanage, St John’s Orphanage, South Goulburn, Foundling Home at Waitara, Carmelite Sisters, Marrickville, Sacred Heart Hospice for the Dying, Darlinghurst, and St Vincent de Paul Society, and the residue of his estate in trust for his children in equal shares.

    The body of John Knight, a middle-aged man, who resided in Elizabeth-street, was found in Prince Albert Park on Saturday by John Murphy, a park ranger.

DIRTY DAIRIES.

    Before Mr Longfield, SM, at the Kogarah Police Court yesterday, Michael McNamara, of Willison-road, Bexley, was proceeded against for not keeping his dairy premises clean. Inspector Baker informed the magistrate that the premises generally were in a very dirty condition, heaps of refuse being littered about the ground, while the place where the milk cans were washed was filthy. The magistrate imposed a fine of £10 with costs, in default two months’ imprisonment.

    At the same court Lawrence D Mudan was fined £5, or two months’ imprisonment, for not keeping clean his dairy premises at Arncliffe.

ACQUITTED.


    Benjamin Klaveren, 42, labourer, was charged with indecent exposure at Manly, on April 15. Mr Sproule (of Messrs RD Meagher, Sproule, and Co) appeared for the accused, who was acquitted and discharged.
