GENERAL QUARTER SESSIONS.

    Mr Butler prosecuting.

    Robert Patrick was charged with unlawfully and indecently assaulting one Sarah Anne Merewether, a girl of ten years of age. The prisoner was defended by Mr Rogers, attorney, Mr Carroll. The jury, after three hours' deliberation, found the prisoner guilty, with a recommendation to mercy. Sentence, twelve months' hard labour on the roads or other public works of the colony.

    Robert Patrick stood charged for that he, on the 4th day of November last, at Congo, in the Moruya district, did unlawfully and indecently assault one Sarah Ann Merewether, a girl of ten years of age. The prisoner was defended by Mr Rogers; attorney, Mr Carroll. After hearing evidence, Mr Rogers addressed the jury on behalf of the prisoner. The Judge summed up. The jury retired, and after deliberating about three hours, found prisoner guilty, with a recommendation to mercy.
