    At the local Police Court, before Mr Shaw, PM, on Wednesday last, Martin Jackson was committed for trial at the ensuing Quarter Sessions, on a charge of bestiality.
    Edward Ryan, for supplying an aboriginal with liquor at Baradine, was fined £2, costs of court 7s 4d, and 3 witnesses 14s each.
    A case of furious riding against Henry Hardy, was postponed till 12th December.
    Peace being now concluded in the black country, the appointment of Messrs WJ Sutch, PJ Garland, W Harper, and W Pincham as special constables, was cancelled.
    On Friday, the bench granted a hawker’s license to Mr Wallace Edmund White.

[COONABARABRAN] QUARTER SESSIONS.

    His Honor Judge Docker opened the Court of Quarter Sessions on Monday, 13th Inst, Mr JHP Murray prosecuting for the Crown.
    There were no defended cases for the District Court. There were either verdicts by default, or arrangements made satisfactory to plaintiffs.

UNNATURAL CRIME.

    Martin Jackson, charged as above [bestiality], pleaded not guilty, and was defended by Mr Commins, William Woods, Francis Nelson, John Neate, and Constable O’Brien gave evidence, and the jury after nearly two hours deliberation returned a verdict of guilty, with a recommendation to mercy in consideration of accused being drunk at the time of the offence. Sentence to 12 months in Maitland goal, with hard labor. The evidence was altogether unfit for publication.
