    A young man named James McCauley [aka McAuley] was acquitted upon a charge of committing a serious assault upon a female [sic].

ALLEGED ASSAULT.

    James McAuley pleaded not guilty to a charge of [indecent] assault [on Sperreow Wallace, 10] at Sydney , on September 15. The jury returned a verdict of acquittal, and the accused was discharged.
