SENTENCED.


    David Christie, 23 (for whom Mr JW Abigail appeared), pleaded guilty to a charge of gross misconduct, [wilfully exposing his person], and was sentenced to a term of 12 months’ imprisonment, with hard labor, the sentence being suspended on his finding sureties for his good behaviour for a period of two years.

MISCONDUCT.

    David Christie, a well-dressed young man, married, pleaded guilty to an indictment which charged him with misconduct in a public place. Mr JW Abigail, who appeared on his behalf, called evidence of character. The accused was described as a man of sober and industrious habits.

    His Honor consented to apply the provisions of the Crimes Act dealing with first offenders. He sentenced the accused to 12 months’ imprisonment at Goulburn Gaol, but suspended the sentence on the accused’s recognizance of £80, and two sureties of £40 each to be of good behaviour for the period of two years.
