    At the local Police Court on Friday, George Richard Jones was committed for trial at the Parramatta Quarter Sessions on April 20, on a charge of committing a serious offence against a boy.

    The Parramatta Quarter Sessions opened yesterday, Judge Rowland presiding. Mr BV Stacey prosecuted for the Crown.

    George Richard Jones was found guilt of assault, and was remanded for sentence.

    Parramatta Quarter Sessions opened on Monday, Judge Rowland presiding. Mr BV Stacy was Crown Prosecutor; Mr LJ Utley, Deputy Clerk of the Peace; and Mr JH Murphy, deputy sheriff.

NEW JUSTICES

    Harold Lloyd, William Alexander Hay, John Hamilton Shaw, and Herbert William Crane were sworn in as Justices of the Peace.
Serious offence.

    George Richard Jones was convicted of a serious offence [buggery with Douglas Martin, aged 9] and was sentenced to three years’ penal servitude.
