    In the Wagga Police Court yesterday Thomas Mills was sentenced to a month’s hard labor without the option of a fine, on a charge of indecent behaviour.

    Before Messrs VB Cox and GA Gray, JsP, at the Albury Police Court yesterday, Thomas Mills, 44, grocer, a stranger to the town, entered a plea of not guilty on a charge of indecent exposure in Dean street, on July 23.

    The offence was proved on the evidence of Detective Constable Cleaver and Mr Eugene Hickey, JP.

    Defendant, against whom one previous conviction for indecent behaviour, had been recorded, did not give evidence.

    Mr Cox said the offence was most disgusting. He could not find words to express the gravity of such an offence.

    The bench sentenced defendant to six months’ hard labor (the maximum penalty) in the Albury gaol.
