WATER POLICE COURT.
The Bench in the Charge Court was occupied yesterday by Messrs Marsh, WPM, Dean, Gray, and Hale, and that in the Summons Court by Messrs Field and Carpenter.

William Douglas, alias Lawrence Kerr, on remand, and described as a labourer, was charged with a nameless offence. After hearing evidence, Mr Marsh committed the prisoner for trial.

UNNATURAL OFFENCE.
William Douglas was found guilty of an unnatural offence [bestiality]. His Honor passed sentence of death in the usual form.

TUESDAY.
The Court reopened this morning at half-past 9 o’clock, before his Honor Sir George Innes. Mr WW Tarleton prosecuted for the Crown.

UNNATURAL OFFENCE.
William Douglas was charged with an unnatural offence, The prisoner pleaded not guilty, and was defended by Mr Harris, instructed by Messrs Greer and Wild.
The jury, after deliberating for more than an hour, brought in a verdict of guilty, and his HONOR passed the sentence of death in the usual form.
The Court then adjourned till 10 o’clock to-day (Wednesday).

The following notifications appear in yesterday’s Gazette:—
DISTRICT COURT.—A proclamation declares that a District Court was ordered to be held at Berrima, and it is expedient that a District Court be held at Moss Vale in lieu thereof, which shall have jurisdiction in and over the Berrima District Court district, and that the Court heretofore held at Berrima is to be discontinued.
CONSUL.—Mr Alexander Brown is to be recognised as Hawaiian Consul at Newcastle, in the room of Mr Ernest Augustus White, resigned, pending the receipt of her Majesty’s Exequatur.
POLICE MAGISTRATES.—Mr David Williamson Irving, police magistrate at Tamworth, to exercise at Tamworth, Nundle, and Manilla, within the police of Tamworth and at Wallabadah, within the police district of Murrurundi, the special powers authorised to be given to police magistrates by the 2nd clause of the Clerks of Petty Sessions Act of 1857, for a further period of two years from the 21st ultimo. Mr Charles De Boos, police magistrate at Temora, to exercise at Morangarell, within the police district of Grenfell, the special powers authorised to be given to police magistrates by the 2nd clause of the Clerks of Petty Sessions Act of 1857, for a period of two years from the 21st ultimo.
APPOINTMENTS.—Miss Henrietta Fowler as matron of the hospital for the reception of the insane at Darlinghurst, in the room of Mrs Eliza Anne Fowler, resigned; Mr James Watt, junior clerk in the office of the Comptroller General of Prisons, to be eighth clerk in that department, vice Wisdom, resigned; Mr George Pritchard to be a railway stationmaster.
MARRIAGES.—The Rev James Henderson Mitchell, of the Congregational Church, St Leonards, has been registered for the celebration of marriages.

UNNATURAL OFFENCE.—William Douglas was indicted for having committed an unnatural offence at Sydney, on the 11th October last. On the date in question, three constables apprehended prisoner in the Domain, where it was alleged the offence was committed. Evidence was given to the effect that the accused had been drinking heavily, and had suffered from delirium tremens. The jury retired at 5 o’clock, and after two hours’ deliberation, returned a verdict of guilty. Hos Honor passed sentence of death in the usual form.
