SYDNEY QUARTER SESSIONS.
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3.

    The Metropolitan Court of Quarter Sessions was continued on Tuesday, before District Court Judge Forbes. Mr WW Tarleton, barrister, prosecuted on behalf of the Crown.

AN UNNATURAL OFFENCE.

    A young man named Charles Young was arraign on a charge of having attempted to commit an unnatural offence on an old man named Peter Barnet. The details were of a most revolting nature. The prisoner was found guilty, and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, with hard labour, in Darlinghurst gaol. After the sentence had been passed, the prisoner asked that a year might be taken off the sentence, and that a flogging might be awarded to him instead.

METROPOLITAN QUARTER SESSIONS.
TUESDAY.
(Before his Honor Mr District Court Judge Forbes.)

    Mr WW Tarleton prosecuted on behalf of the Crown.

UNNATURAL OFFENCE.

    Charles Young was found guilty of an assault with intent to commit an unnatural offence, and was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment with hard labour in Darlinghurst gaol. Upon the sentence being passed prisoner asked his Honor to remit one year and to order him a flogging instead. His Honor refused to alter the sentence, and the prisoner was removed.
